Features

Models and chat

• Every model CodeBuddy offers, ready to switch between at any time
• Model panel: each model's promotions, subscription, credit multiplier, and discounted price at a glance; hover or tap for details, set how hard the model thinks, and adjust the context window and maximum output
• Image input: models that accept images take a pasted or attached picture

Image generation

• Let the model draw from chat, and click a result to open it full size

Accounts

• Sign in through the browser, no API key needed
• Keep several accounts signed in at once, each conversation using its own
• Manage accounts on the Plugins page: drag to reorder and sign out one or many
• Switch the current conversation's account from the composer

Usage

• Allowance ring: this account's usage with main and gifted allowances pooled, and the remaining gift shown in the centre
• Per-turn credits at the end of every reply; hover to see which account paid and that turn's request ID, and click to copy the full ID

Activity

• Conversations count toward your CodeBuddy daily activity, so chatting here counts the same as chatting in the official IDE (see Conversation activity)

Preferences

• Whether to show the allowance ring, the low-allowance alert percentage, whether minimal-mode sessions get the draw tool, and whether to report conversation activity

• codebuddy-power manages accounts from a terminal

Conversation activity

CodeBuddy keeps a daily-activity map for its own client, and its client tells the service about a conversation through a separate reporting channel. Without that channel a conversation is not counted as activity at all, however much is said, so this plugin reports it too. On by default, and you can turn it off under Preferences on the plugin's card.

What it gains you

• Conversations held here count toward the same daily-activity map as conversations in the official IDE, so a day of work here is not a blank square.
• Each request's model, token counts, time, and outcome are reported, matching what the official client sends.

What it costs you

• It sends data to CodeBuddy. Each turn reports the model used, input/output token counts, whether it succeeded, and timestamps. Your prompt and the model's answer are not included.
• It identifies this plugin as a distinct client. The report carries a device identifier this plugin generates and stores per account, so CodeBuddy can see that this activity comes from a device of its own rather than from the official IDE. That identifier is created locally and is not read from, or shared with, the official IDE's own identifier.
• It is not the official client, and the service may treat it differently. Reporting mirrors the official protocol, but whether the service always credits it is outside this plugin's control.

Turn the switch off to stop reporting entirely: no request is made at all while it is off.

Usage examples

Web: open Plugins in the sidebar and open the dsh-llm-codebuddy-power card, then click Sign in to add an account; the copy button beside it puts the sign-in link on the clipboard instead of opening it, for completing sign-in in another browser or on another machine. Drag a badge to reorder the list and sign an account out with Multi-select; the account button in the composer switches the current conversation's account, and a conversation keeps the account it first used until you switch it again.

dsh version used for development

• dsh version used for development: 0.1.7-rc.2. @deepseek-ai/dsh-* dependencies use workspace:^.

Secondary development

• The plugin must stay at a packages/<group>/ path inside the dsh checkout: its tsconfig*.json files extend the dsh repository's tsconfig.base*.json, so moving it outside the checkout breaks the build.
• Local build: pnpm --filter dsh-llm-codebuddy-power build (tsc -b + tsdown, artifacts under lib/).

Runtime invariant

No runtime invariant companion is published: everything this plugin registers leaves with the plugin itself, and it owns no cross-event durable relation that needs an independent check and no second data source to compare against.
